Because the propulsion class was longer than usual, we had the exam last tuesday. We also got to visit the engine maintenance facility on base, which was very instructive.. We then started one of the most important classes of the year : equation of motion. Dutch roll, short period oscillations, spiral stability, phugoid, directionnal stabilty, dihedral have no secrets for us anymore ! We also had a couple more FTT. Aeromodeling, or how to get the lift and drag curves from a single maneuver, the "split-S" (roll inverted, stablize at -1g, and start pullling on the stick; when you don't see any blue, it's time to stop).
One the flying side, the FTE finished the level-accel, sawtooth and turn demo in the C12, so that we started practising in our data group aircraft.
Next week, we will finish EOM and start and class called "test&evaluation". We won't fly much because the Navy is here as well as some Canadians, and they will have the priority on the jets.
